About Our Workshops

Fulfill your destiny and wield a lightsaber. Learn traditional martial arts sword techniques and theatrical combat. New Orleans Light Academy workshops focus on providing an experience of fun, control, and meditation, all while swinging lightsabers in a unique fitness workout.

At least one adult per child is requested, please.

Chief instructor Arturo Peal (6th dan, Shidoin) will warm up the workshop participants with some simple movements, stretching, and exercise before demonstrations and lightsaber clashing.

FAQs

Will sabers be provided?

Absolutely! New Orleans Light Academy provides a selection of sabers of various colors, blade sizes, and hilts. You are welcome to bring your own saber but we do request that your saber has the ability to be silent while lit.

What should I wear?

You are going to get a workout so we would suggest you wear something comfortable. Jewelry and things that could damage the mats are discouraged.
